Climate Change

Resero applies its extensive modeling and policy experience to support clients struggling with climate change policy design questions. We support both stakeholders and policy makers in developing effective and workable climate change policies. We also help stakeholders anticipate outcomes, understand the implications of those outcomes to their business, and respond appropriately. Resero consultants use their wealth of experience in the policy environment to decipher the complex models used to assess the electricity industry’s carbon impacts, such as the CPUC’s E3’s model and Energy 2020. Resero performs modeling for client-specific investigations related to climate change.

Resero helps clients anticipate and address issues such as the following:

  • How climate goals effect the industry’s regulatory, economic, and operational structures
  • Identification and use of the appropriate inputs to the regulatory modeling processes to ensure consideration of important policy options
  • Identification of assumptions used in modeling processes such as those being undertaken by the Public Utility Commission (CPUC), the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and the Western States Climate Initiative (WCI) and the implications of those assumptions on model results
  • Interpretation of modeling results, and extraction of information from those results to support policy positions and examination of organizational impacts
